Lens Filter - Based Installation

1. Filter Screw In (Ulir)

Screw In Filter

Filter screw in adalah  filter yang dipasang di depan lensa dengan cara mengikuti ulir yang ada dibagian depan lensa. 

Screw-in filter is a filter that is placed in front of the lens by following the thread that is at the front of the lens.

Setiap filter berjenis ulir ini memiliki ukuran yang berbeda, mengikuti spesifikasi ukuran ulir yang ada di lensa. Biasanya ukuran lensa tertulis dengan simbol diameter " Ø " lalu diikuti dengan angka dua digit (52, 72, 60 dll) menandakan ukuran filter.

Each filter has a different size, follows the thread size specifications in the lens. Usually the size of the diameter of the lens is written with the symbol "Ø" followed by the two-digit number (52, 72, 60 etc.) indicates the size of the filter.

2. Filter Slot In

Untuk jenis filter lensa satu ini, sebuah rangka logam tipis tempat optik dfilter dipasang (biasanya disebut holder) dikaitkan ke ring adapter yang masuk ke lensa. Holder tersebut biasanya memiliki tiga sampai empat dudukan filter sehingga kita bisa menumpuk (stacking) beberapa jenis lensa.

For this one type of lens filters, a thin metal frame fitted dfilter optical spot (usually called holder) linked to the ring adapter that goes into the lens. The holder usually has three to four filter holder so that we can accumulate (stacking) several types of lenses.

Filter jenis ini lebih fleksibel karena bisa dipakai untuk beragam ukuran lensa.

This type of filter is more flexible because it can be used for a variety of lens sizes.

1. Filter UV

UV Filter

Filter UV (Ultra Violet) adalah filter transparan yang berguna untuk menghalangi cahaya ultra violet. 

UV (Ultra Violet) Filter is a transparent filter is useful to block ultra violet light.

Kegunaan filter UV adalah untuk mengurangi haze (kabut asap tipis) yang tampak di foto saat foto masih menggunakan film. Namun filter UV di era fotografi digital tidak terlalu dibutuhkan karena cahaya ultra violet tidak mempengaruhi sensor digital. Namun filter UV masih tetap dipakai, filter ini bisa dipakai untuk melindungi ujung depan lensa dari benturan dan kotoran.

Usefulness of the UV filter is to reduce haze  that looked at the photo when the photo is still using film. But UV filter in the era of digital photography is not needed because the ultra violet light does not affect the digital sensor. However, the UV filters are still used, this filter can be used to protect the front end of the lens from impact and dirt.

2. Filter Polarisasi / CPL  Circular Polarizer

Filter polarisasi adalah filter yang berguna untuk  menyaring cahaya yang masuk ke dalam sensor dengan cara membelokkan cahaya yang tidak diinginkan, dapat digunakan untuk menggelapkan warna langit . Selain itu, filter CPL juga berguna untuk mengurangi pantulan sinar matahari. Berguna saat memotret kaca, air yang memantulkan cahaya dan benda reflektif lainnya.

Polarizing filter is a filter that is useful to deflect the trajectory of light, can be used to darken the color of the sky.  CPL filter is also useful to reduce reflection of sunlight. Useful when photographing glass, light-reflecting water and other reflective objects.

3. Filter Neutral Density

Neutral Density Filter

Filter Neutral Density (ND) adalah filter utama untuk foto long exposure.  ND adalah singkatan dari Neutral Density, kata Neutral kurang lebih karena sifatnya tidak mengubah arah maupun karakter cahaya. Sementara kata Density karena sifatnya mengurangi intensitas cahaya. Jadi kurang lebih bisa diartikan sebagai filter yang berguna untuk mengurangi intensitas cahaya namun tidak mengubah karakternya.

 Neutral Density (ND) Filter is the main filter for long exposure photograph. ND is an abbreviation of Neutral Density, said Neutral less because it does not change the direction and character of light. While the word Density because it reduces the intensity of the light. So more or less could be interpreted as a useful filter to reduce the intensity of light but does not alter its character.

4. Filter Soft Focus

Filter Soft Focus berguna untuk membuat subyek foto tampak lebih lembut, filter ini akan mengurangi ketajaman foto dan membuatnya tampak lembut. Filter ini biasanya dipakai saat memotret wajah orang. Dengan memanfaatkan difusi cahaya yang dibuat oleh filter soft focus ini, kita bisa membuat kulit muka yang cukup kasar menjadi tampak lebih lembut.

Soft Focus filter is useful to make your subject appear softer, this filter will reduce the sharpness of the picture and make it look soft. This filter is usually used when photographing people's faces. By utilizing the light diffusion created by soft focus filter, we can make a pretty rough facial skin becomes softer.

Filter soft focus sudah agak jarang dipakai mengingat fungsinya bisa dibuat di photoshop.

Soft focus filter has been somewhat rarely used given its function can be made in photoshop.

5. Filter Black & White

Ada beberapa filter yang dipasang untuk menghalangi cahaya dengan panjang gelombang tertentu agar foto hitam putih menjadi lebih bagus. Ada filter Red, Orange, Yellow, Green dan Blue yang biasa dipakai oleh fotografer penggemar foto hitam putih.

There are several filters that are installed for blocking light with specific wavelengths that black and white photograph becomes better. There is a filter Red, Orange, Yellow, Green and Blue used by the photographer fans black and white photo.

Sebagai contoh, filter Red  menghalangi cahaya merah dan memperkuat cahaya biru, sehingga langit dalam foto hitam putih bisa menjadi lebih dramatis.

6. Filter Graduated ND

Filter graduated neutral density, biasa disebut graduated filter adalah filter yang memiliki fungsi seperti filter ND namun dengan intensitas yang bertingkat, bagian atas gelap sementara bagian bawah lebih terang. FIlter ini biasanya dipakai untuk memotret landscape dengan subyek yang memiliki kontras antara langit dengan objek di bawahnya.

Graduated neutral density filter, commonly called graduated filter is a filter that has a function as an ND filter, but with the intensity of the storied, dark top while the bottom of the lighter. FIlter is usually used for photographing landscape with subjects who have the contrast between the sky with the object underneath.

7. Filter Star/cross

Filter ini adalah filter khusus untuk efek pendaran cahaya, digunakan untuk membuat titik cahaya menjadi lebih unik .

This filter is a special filter for light luminescence effects, used to make a point of light becomes more unique.

8. Filter IR ( infra Red )

Filter ini berfungsi untuk merekam gelombang Infra red yang tidak dapat dilihat oleh mata. Dengan filter ini warna dari objek dapat berubah dan terlihat lebih unik.

This filter serves to record Infra red waves that can not be seen by the eye. With this filter can change the color of the object and look more unique.

9. Filter Close-up

Filter ini membantu lensa agar bisa fokus lebih dekat pada obyek, sangat membantu saat kita memotret close-up atau benda-benda kecil, karena itulah filter lensa ini juga sering disebut dengan filter diopter.

This filter helps the lens in order to focus more closely on the object, very helpful when we take close-ups or small objects, because that lens filter is also often called the diopter filter.
